Associate, Architecture, Shanghai studio

The role

We are currently looking for a design leader within our Shanghai studio capable of delivering projects of exceptional design.

About you

A talented, focused and driven designer who has worked with major design firms
8+ years of relevant experience in leading design for major projects
Have worked with key multi-national clients to develop design from Inception to design development stages
Must have experience on built projects in China
Ability to present ideas confidently to client and statutory authority groups
Have worked directly with senior leadership group on all aspects of design and is able to put forward new and creative ideas and challenge the norm
Ability to lead and have led design teams and consultants on complex projects
Ability to lead and participate in design reviews across different disciplines and studios within our global network
Ability to mentor our emerging designers across the Asia region
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit and InDesign

Architect, Shanghai studio

The role

We are currently looking for a talented project architect who will undertake design, documentation and construction phase services at the direction of senior team members on a range of project types.

About you

School of Architecture, Bachelor Degree graduate, or above
5 to 8 years of experience in a respected architectural firm
Have been involved in the different stages of architectural projects, from design concept submissions, to producing well executed detailed design documentation
Project experience on China projects, especially commercial, hospitality and mixed-use typologies an advantage
Well skilled in using design and documentation software. Example: Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit, etc
Enjoy being involved in a collaborative team environment, but also self-motivated, and able to work independently
Is dependable and committed to meeting deadlines
Enthusiastic about creating great design and international quality architecture
Enthusiastic about being involved in a diverse range of projects, and open to collaborating within a multi-national environment and collaborating with colleagues both locally and internationally
Must be bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese

Senior Urban Designer, Shanghai studio

The role

We are currently seeking a Senior Urban Designer to join our Shanghai studio. The successful candidate will be required to have an understanding of the specific components of projects from procurement through to delivery. Skills in concept development and communication are important, as is the ability to lead highly motivated design and documentation teams. This position is a senior level within the organisation and may lead to Associate level nomination for the right person.

About you

A minimum of 6 years postgraduate experience with strong design and graphic ability to join a dynamic team and undertake the conceptual and design development stages of urban design/master planning projects in China/Asia
Passionate about design and has the ability to inspire; confident in putting forward new ideas and in developing design concept with others
Effectively collaborate with others and is able to share information
Strong communication skills, ability to communicate with major clients and consultants
Good client co-ordination and professional presentation skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Proficient English language skills are required
University qualification in urban design, landscape architecture or architecture
Overseas experience is an advantage

Senior Landscape Architect, Shanghai studio

The role

We are currently seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to join our Shanghai studio. The successful applicant will be required to have an understanding of the specific components of medium to large projects from concept design through to detail design. A natural strength in design must be evident in the applicant’s portfolio both at a detailed and large urban scale.

About you

Optimally 5-10 years post-graduate experience with demonstrated knowledge/experience in project delivery
Passionate about design and has the ability to inspire; confident in putting forward new ideas and in developing design concept with others
Effectively collaborate with others and is able to share information
Strong communication skills, ability to communicate with major clients and consultants
Good client coordination and professional presentation skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Proficient English and Mandarin language skills are preferred
Formal qualification in landscape architecture, architecture or equivalent

Landscape Architect, Shanghai studio

The role

We are currently seeking an experienced Landscape Architect to deliver complex projects through to a successful completion. You will be required to have an understanding of the specific components of such projects from procurement through to implementation. Skills from design development to site supervision are required.

About you

Demonstrated ability to achieve strong design development and project outcomes
Over 3 years of relevant experience in the private sector
Design development, documentation, site supervision and client management skills
Construction supervision and onsite quality control capabilities
Demonstrated plant knowledge and understanding of and commitment to ESD
Good user of AutoCAD and/or ADT, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, or Sketchup
Documentation skills and experience
Qualification in landscape architecture, architecture or equivalent.

Senior Associate, Retail_Interior Design, Shanghai studio

The role

We are looking for a talented Senior Associate level Interior Designer/Architect with excellent design and delivery skills to work on large scale retail projects. Working alongside the design leader, the candidate should have great management skills and a solid grounding in delivering relevant projects. The role will initially involve managing key projects including client liaison, management of a design team across international studios, co-ordination of design development and documentation packages and site co-ordination.

About you

Senior Associate level Interior Designer/Architect with 10-15 plus years’ experience
Relevant degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
Ability to deliver medium to large scale luxury retail projects
Demonstrated exposure to China retail projects
Confident in managing clients, consultants and a design team to achieve high quality design outcomes
Ability to exercise effective judgment within constrained time scales
Experience working in the Asia Pacific region
Proven experience in construction documentation - leading interior package documentation, technical drawing, including joinery documentation, FF&E scheduling and co-ordination
Self-motivated and focused to achieve project deadlines.

Senior Architect, Hong Kong studio

The role

We are keen to talk to talented senior architect about opportunities in our Hong Kong studio. We are looking for an experienced design architect to deliver complex projects through to a successful completion. Skills in concept development and communication are important, as is the ability to lead highly motivated design and document teams. This position is a senior level within HASSELL and may lead to Associate level nomination for the right talent.
